Retraction Policy
The Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications (JoWUA) is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. Retractions are issued to correct the literature and ensure that readers are aware of significant issues affecting a published article.
An article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of unreliable findings resulting from misconduct (such as data fabrication or plagiarism), honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental mistakes), duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or serious violations of publication ethics. Retractions may also be considered if there are unresolved authorship disputes or legal concerns that affect the validity of the article.
Retraction notices will be linked to the original article and clearly state the reasons for retraction to maintain transparency. The original article will remain available but marked as retracted to preserve the scholarly record. Authors will be informed of the decision and given an opportunity to respond before a retraction is finalized.
The journal follows established guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other relevant bodies to handle retractions fairly and consistently. JoWUA encourages authors, readers, and editors to report any concerns about published content so that they can be investigated promptly.
By enforcing a clear retraction policy, JoWUA upholds the highest standards of research integrity and protects the trustworthiness of the academic literature in wireless mobile networks, ubiquitous computing, and dependable applications.
Correction Policy
The Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications (JoWUA) is committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors are identified in a published article that do not warrant retraction but could affect the understanding or interpretation of the work, a correction notice will be issued.
Corrections may address typographical errors, factual mistakes, incorrect author affiliations, missing acknowledgments, or errors in data presentation that do not alter the study’s conclusions. Authors, readers, or editors can request a correction by notifying the editorial office. After careful evaluation, a formal correction will be published and linked to the original article to maintain transparency. The original content will remain accessible but clearly marked with the updated information.
Authorship Policy
JoWUA follows internationally recognized standards for authorship. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the research, including involvement in the design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All listed authors must have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria—such as those who provided technical help, general support, or writing assistance—should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgments section. Any changes to authorship (addition, removal, or order of authors) after submission must be approved by all listed authors and justified to the editorial office.
JoWUA strongly discourages unethical practices such as ghost authorship, honorary authorship, and undisclosed contributions. In cases of authorship disputes or suspected misconduct, the journal will follow COPE guidelines to investigate and resolve the matter in a fair and transparent manner.
Diversity Equity and Inclusion
The Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications (JoWUA) is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across all areas of its publishing activities. We recognize that diverse perspectives strengthen scientific inquiry and help create more impactful and globally relevant research.
We welcome submissions from researchers of all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, age, nationality, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. JoWUA is committed to providing an equitable platform where all authors, reviewers, and editors are treated with fairness and respect, and where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute and succeed.
In support of this commitment, we aim to build a diverse editorial board and reviewer community that reflects the global and multidisciplinary nature of our field. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit, originality, and relevance of the submission, and never on personal or institutional characteristics.
We also encourage authors to practice inclusivity in their research teams, approaches, and reporting. Where applicable, researchers should consider the representation of diverse populations in study designs and disclose any relevant demographic data in a transparent and respectful manner.
By embedding DEI principles into our editorial policies and peer review practices, JoWUA seeks to foster an inclusive and ethical research environment. We believe that advancing equity and representation in science benefits not only our authors and readers, but also the broader research and innovation ecosystem.
