Abstract
Purpose: The primary objective of this study is to scrutinize the evolving trends and patterns in research concerning Leadership Style and Leadership Strategies in Crisis Situations, shedding light on key contributors, prominent publication sources, and thematic concentrations. By doing so, the study aims to offer valuable insights into the current research landscape in this domain and identify potential areas for future exploration.
Research Methodology: This research adopts a qualitative methodology, employing a bibliometric analysis approach. The Scopus database serves as the primary source for data collection, focusing on articles and journals related to Leadership Style and Leadership Strategies. VOSviewer is utilized for visualization and analysis, incorporating network and density calculations. Additionally, quantitative methods, specifically online surveys, are employed in the publications associated with the research topic.
Findings: The findings of this study reveal China as the leading contributor of articles in the field from 2013 to 2022, with the Journal of Sustainability and Business Horizon standing out as the primary source of publication. Topics such as leadership strategies, leadership style, and transformational leadership exhibit the network's highest frequency and total link strength. Identifying these trends provides a comprehensive understanding of the current research on Leadership Style and Leadership Strategies in Crisis Situations.
Research Limitations: While this study provides valuable insights, certain limitations should be acknowledged. The reliance on the Scopus database may introduce biases, as not all relevant publications might be included. Additionally, using quantitative methods, such as online surveys, may limit the depth of understanding, and the scope of the study may not encompass all facets of leadership in crises.
Practical Implications: The study's findings hold practical implications for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers involved in leadership during crises. Understanding the current trends and focal points in research can guide decision-making, policy formulation, and future research endeavors in leadership strategies and styles during crises.
Originality/Value: This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing a comprehensive overview of the trends in research on Leadership Style and Leadership Strategies in Crisis Situations. Identifying emerging topics and areas with significant potential for future exploration adds value to the scholarly discourse on effective leadership in times of crisis.
