Abstract
The application of Business Intelligence (BI) in organizations and companies allows them to adapt their organizational data into knowledge to provide analytical results that help them support their strategic and operational decisions in the short and long term, in order to increase corporate competitiveness. The objective of this study is to identify and summarize current evidence on methodologies, tools, areas or sectors, and the reasons for implementing BI to support decision-making. To meet this objective, articles from peer-reviewed journals and conference works published from 2013 to the beginning of 2023 were reviewed. All the identified works were submitted to selection stages, resulting in 50 articles that met the criteria of inclusion, exclusion and quality on the application of BI for decision-making. The results of the study identify that the methodologies and technologies to implement Business Intelligence in any area or sector play an important role in helping to significantly improve the decision-making process. Concluding that BI leads to more effective market management in any environment.
